About Dr. Richard Wainford

An assistant professor for the Boston University School of Medicine and winner of the 2012 Dean Franklin Young Investigator Award, Dr. Richard Wainford possesses years of training and experience as a researcher and teacher. Richard Wainford previously taught for the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, where he was nominated for an Outstanding Accomplishments for a Young Faculty Member Award. While there, Richard Wainford contributed vital research to a diverse range of physiological studies. Dr. Richard Wainford serves as a member of the American Heart Association’s Cardio-Renal Study Section. Furthermore, he maintains close ties with the American Physiological Society, serving as a member of the Communications Committee and the Water and Electrolyte Homeostasis Section Awards Committee.

Dr. Richard Wainford contributes to the advancement of knowledge in his field by delivering presentations and lectures to a variety of learning institutions and professional organizations. Richard Wainford has spoken before the Departments of Physiology at University College Cork in Ireland and Louisiana State University in New Orleans, and has spoken at the American Society of Hypertension’s Gulf Central Chapter Annual Meeting. In addition, Dr. Richard Wainford presented for the Donald Reiss Memorial Research Symposium in San Diego, California, as well as to the Hypertension and Renal Center of Excellence with the Tulane University School of Medicine.

Dr. Richard Wainford’s research work has appeared in publications such as the Journal of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology, Drug Metabolism Reviews, Toxicology, the Journal of Hypertension, and the American Journal of Physiology Regulatory, Integrative, and Comparative Physiology.
